90's Nude Lip Trend - Top 5

90s_nude_lip_trend_Kylie_Jenner

The 90's are back! And with it comes the dark nude lip trend thanks to Kylie Jenner (I will admit I don't realllly know who she is). This is a trend I'm happy to try out as I love nude lipsticks and it makes sense to take it slightly darker come Autumn/Winter.

I personally feel brown/dark nude lips suit olive skin tones perfectly but for us pale girls, especially if you are super pale like me, you can't get away with anything too dark. So here are my top 5 dark nude lipsticks for pale skin...

MAC Viva Glam II Lipstick
£15.50 - Debenhams here
First up my go-to slightly deeper than usual nude lipstick. This is a wonderful muted pink-beige with a comfortable satin finish that will suit all skin tones. It goes without saying that this is high-quality and lasts well throughout the day. MAC recently increased their lipstick prices yet again but I think the Viva Glam range is still worth it!

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish  Lipstick in '08'
£5.49 - Amazon here or Boots here
The darkest of my picks and possibly most true to the dark nude lip trend. Rimmel Kate in 08 is a glossy mauve nude that's comfortable to wear and great for drier lips. The only downside would be that it is very scented.

Soap & Glory Fabulipstick Powder Coat in 'Super Nude'
£9.00 - Boots here or in-store
Maybe not such a dark nude but for pale skin tones this does appear as a peachy toned brown lipstick. This is a favourite nude of mine for the powder matte finish that is actually very comfortable to wear. This also lasts well on the lips - slightly pricey for the high street but worth it!

1. Collection Little Mix Jade Lipstick. 2. MAC Viva Glam II Satin Lipstick , 3. S&G Fabulipstick Super Nude Lipstick, 4. Rimmel Kate 08 Lipstick, 5. Revlon Super Lustrous Almost Nude Lipstick.

Collection Little Mix Lipstick in 'Jade'
£2.99 - Boots or Superdrug in-store
Another deep mauve brown shade that is great for trying out the dark nude lip trend with. Similar to Rimmel Kate Lipstick in 08 but slightly less glossy. I'd be tempted to blot this and apply a little translucent powder to make this into a matte lipstick as the shade is spot on for the trend. A great budget choice.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 'Almost Nude 117'
Discontinued - similar in existing range
Even though discontinued, Revlon offer a range of good nude shades so I thought this was still worth mentioning. I find Revlon lipsticks to be creamy and comfortable on the lips and come in so many shades.

Other dark nude lipsticks worth trying -  Natural Collection Biscuit, Revlon Cappuccino, Barry M 150, MUA Shade 11, Makeup Revolution Treat.

Are you in to the 90s nude lip trend? If so, which lipsticks have you been sporting?

Fee xo.

These are all right up my street! Definitely not too dark, something that I learned the heard way when I put a browny/nude MAC lipliner all over my lips and it just looked horrible.

My selections would be Revlon's Mauve it over for a more coral-y nude, and Bourjois' velvet matte lipstick in Peach Club.

I love the nude lip colours at the moment, I have been wearing it this year throughout our autumn & winter season. Now that it's spring its time for some colour hehe

I have been digging using the Too Faced Perfect Nude Lip Liner, its the perfect darker brownier pink nude for my fairer than fair skin tone, it is matte but VERY comfortable.

How can i get this...really want
I struggle to find a good quality nude lip, even been to nars and had no hope, they just seem to flake on me and are never as opaque as need be. may have to give one of these a try as they look amazing!

Love the Viva Glam colour but I really struggle with nudes, they wash out my pale complexion so much! My favourite that is slightly nude is Mac Blankety, which is like a nudey/brown :) x
