With the appearance of September I for one have almost left Summer behind and thoughts of Autumn and crisp weather are creeping in. I personally love Autumn and all that comes with it, even the rainy days which I find a good excuse to laze around with a blanket and watch films.
But of course I especially love the change in makeup; for me it means smokey gold and brown eyes, deep lips and endless rich nail choices.
Here I've put together all the beauty products that I cannot wait to wear this season and also show off on Makeup Savvy - autumnal leaf nails will be happening!
This was my eBay bargain of last month and though I couldn't resist trying it out this was purely purchased for Autumn smokey eyes as the tones to this are stunning and catch the light perfectly. It also offers just the right amount of shades to create an easy eye look, plus there's a handy brow powder in there too! This really is a little gem of a product! You can also find it in Boots for £8.99 here.
With golden smokey eyes I often feel a heavy voluminous mascara can look over done, especially with liquid eyeliner, something I can't be without. So this L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara is the perfect choice for me. This does give some volume to the base of the lashes but I find it also separates and splays out the lashes to give a feline look to the eyes which is very chic. Also with the curved brush you really do get a good lift to the lashes that holds well. Just a really lovely mascara!
BD Trade Secrets Dream Shine Highlighter

As for skin I like to wear a light to medium coverage foundation and to keep it looking dewy and fresh, which is where the BD Highlighter comes in! This has been a joy to use over the summer months but I'm now imagining using it over a wider area of the cheeks and along the brow bones to achieve that dewy look. This is kind of my version of strobing even though I feel strobing didn't need to ever exist as a trend and highlight on it's own without contouring has always been a thing. Ramble aside this is a wonderful liquid highlighter that isn't overly glittey and is slightly warm toned, making it ideal for Autumn.
Olivia Palermo X Ciate London Satin Kiss Lipstick - Velveteen
£19.00 - Ciate website here
On to lips now with quite a luxury choice that I've literally been saving for Autumn. This delightful and very luxury looking lipstick is from the new Autumn line between Ciate and the stunning and ever chic Olivia Palermo. I obviously can't comment on the formula and wear just yet as I've even resisted swatching it, but if Ciate's past lipsticks are anything to go by then it will be creamy yet long lasting on the lips. This is a stunning rich vampy deep red shade that screams Autumn!

Another gorgeous lip colour that will be adorning my lips this Autumn is one of the deep shades in the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick range. Beau Brun is a unique shade and one I can't put my finger on but it's deep yet subtle on the lips... well as subtle as a bold lip can be. The formula also makes it a dream to wear as it's a satin matte finish that isn't drying on the lips. I also really love how the finish really does have a velvet look to it; soft yet matte. I love all the shades in the Rouge Edition Velvet range but this shade is a total winner for Autumn... I am kinda hoping Bourjois will release some new vampy berry shades soon though!
Autumnal Nail Colours
Ahhh, Autumn nails, how I love you so. For me Autumn nails are easy - deep berry or copper shades or some kind of autumn glitter/nail art over nude nails. Already I've found myself wearing quite an autumnal shade with Sally Hansen Lustre Shine in Lava (£3.95 eBay here). With the pink/coppy duochrome I find this is such a great transition shade and so pretty when it catches the light. However once Summer has fully left us I will be instantly wearing Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Polish in Paprika (£3.99 Boots here) and Olivia Palermo X Ciate London Paint Pot in Napa Valley (£17.00 Ciate here), both solid and rich colours that feel so autumnal to me. I wonder how many times I can used the word 'autumnal'!
As for over nude shades, my go-to nude is Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Lychee FYI, I absolutely love Technic Glitter Nail Polish in Bedazzled (£5.99 eBay here). Years ago I had my heart set on finding a simple copper glitter top coat and I finally found it with this Technic beauty. Copper glitter over a light base colour really is so pretty and very autumn-y indeed. As for nail art I will be certainly trying out these Maple Leaf Nail Decals (£99p eBay here) that I stumbled across on eBay, these were a total bargain that I know will look fab - I can't wait to try them out!
