I rarely go to Asda but when I do I always have to get afew George nail polishes (then wonder why I didn't get more!). I really do feel they are up to the same standard of Collection 2000, Rimmel and Bourjois in quality and with a great colour range.
Now I'm not exactly sure if these are new shades, as like I say I don't go to Asda that often but there did seem to be alot more brighter shades than when I last went back in December. So my guess is it's there new Spring/Summer stock! I only picked the three above but there were so many I wanted, especially a lovely lilac pastel and a bright canary yellow shade (which is supposed to be quite 'in' this summer) but I am on a slight nail polish ban at the moment!
I really think Sunset Orange will be perfect on fingers and toes this summer, more of a bright creme nail polish rather than being neon! So very wearable whether you have a tan or like to stay pale.
As for Magical I was slightly disappointed on the cover front as it did take 3 coats and then I could still my nail line through the polish, so I actually think it would need 4 thin coats (but the coats do dry fast)! That aside it's a lovely jelly pink shade.
As for Streamer...
Actually not as bright as this, the swatch below is more accurate. |
Quite hard to apply as it's a pastel shade and the first coat applies quite streaky but I still love it. Very similar to the new Bloo Boo Models Own shade which you can see a swatch of on Lipglossiping. Just with abit more green and maybe a tad darker - but still very similar and of course £4 cheaper!
I do always feel like I can't wear any pastel nail polish before Summer, it just doesn't seem right. So instead of removing it I decided to add a glitter top coat to distract from the pastel-ness!
I only got my order of the multi glitter Stargazer 146 this morning so decided Streamer would be the perfect shade to try it out on.
Already love the glitter in this - a mix of green, blue, red and silver and so easy to apply.
My nails actually remind me of glittery frosted cupcakes and birthdays now!
Love it!
I have the sunset orange one, its lovely :)

love the look of these. my friend has tried out the asda polishes and she says they are great. esp as they are so cheap too xx
ReplyDeleteI'm gunna try out sunset orange for summer :)
ReplyDeleteWhere are they located in the store? I can't ever find them. :/
ReplyDelete@Ally - There should be the normal make up concessions near all the bath/shower products that you find in most Supermarkets (like Rimmel and Max Factor) and there should be a George stand as well.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps,
Fee x
It is quite a bright shade but nice none the less I like that you added the little bit of sparkle to it I think that was the perfect finishing touch.

Streamer definately isn't new, it's been a favourite of mine for about two years :D Isn't it lovely once you get past the application?! xx
ReplyDeleteI think they'd make great pedicure colours (that way if it's a bit sheer/patchy no-one will know!) I sometimes go to Asda so I'll have to give them a look - I keep forgetting! :)

I used to work for said company and couldn't resist buying those nail polishes every so often! So cheap if you're just after a few colours for each season

So now I have to go and do my shopping in Asda this weekend?? How do I explain this to my hubby?! Lol, thanks Fee x
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear so many good comments about Asda Nail Polish, i'm always wary of Supermarket cheapy nail polish but I think i'll now give the Asda one's a go....where's my coat....
ReplyDeleteThe thing is there is no Asda near me, and the one that I pass by on the way to work, I am not sure if they have the nail polishes.
ReplyDeleteFor a quid, you can't really go wrong, can you?
They look awesome, but does the bottom say they only last 6 months?
ReplyDelete@Sophie - The 6m does mean that they only think it should last for 6 months. But to be honest I have other older polishes from this range that I've had for well over 18 months. So I really wouldn't be put off!
