Our relatives over the pond have had these lovely scented nail polishes for at least 6 months...however us 'behind in everything' UK-ers still have another month to wait until we sniff the Revlon Scents of Summer collection!
Though I did get 2 of the 8 nail polishes in the range from eBay...which is how I'm able to show you them early!
So this is 'Peach Smoothie' no number as it's Limited Edition - A light peach shade with a slight gold shimmer running through it, which of course smells of peaches! Needs 2-3 coats.
I've already had a few questions about the scent in the nail polish so I thought I'd answer them here.
Q. How long does the scent last for on the nails?
A. It's hard to say as it's quite subtle but the scent does seem to wear off after about 3 days..which is when the polish starts to chip anyway.
Q. Does applying a top coat stop the scent coming through?
A. I also wondered this...and strangely it doesn't affect the scent at all! Even with glitter polish over the top the scent is still the same.
Q. How strong is the scent?
A. Not very... as soon as the nails dry you do really notice the scent as it's such a contrast from the normal nasty chemical nail polish smell and you being much closer to your nails also helps! But you really can't notice is while doing day-to-day tasks. The only way to actually smell the scent is to sniff your fingers...and we all know how dodgy that looks!!
To be honest I think the scent is there to be just a bit of fun and something just that bit different!
Even though I love the shade of Peach Smoothie I always seem to go for nude nails during the week - so I decided to jazz it up with NYC Long Wearing Starry Silver Glitter (105) which only costs £1.99 in Superdrug stores and really is such a great glitter nail polish!
As you can see the polish is a mixture of small and large holographic glitter with blue and pink hexagons!
Definitely worth it to make any nail polish more interesting.
A swatch of the Revlon Scented 'Cotton Candy' nail polish will be coming soon I'm sure!
This is such a gorgeous colour, and looks like it could be in the running for the perfect nude nail polish!
ReplyDeleteIs it more expensive than the normal Revlon polishes? I'm not sure I'd be willing to spend more on a scented nail polish, as I'm really not bothered by the chemically smell of normal polishes that fades as soon as they dry!
I have that NYC Polish. I LOVE it so much! It looks amazing over everything!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I think I'd be put of if the price was any higher than the normal range. However thankfully it isn't! £6.29 as normal.

ReplyDeleteHa ha I just got an image of you smelling your fingers. I told my girlfriend who perked up. It's a really cool idea, do you not get the urge to sniff your fingers when you're bored?

I love that NYC glitter, it's amazing! I really like the colour of that peach one although the smell of artificial peaches isn't really up my street so it's good to hear that it isn't overwhelming.
