Your Skin, Your Rules, Nivea's Treat!

N

Today I want to talk about a great new campaign from NIVEA and also about skincare routines in general.

A few products from NIVEA have featured constantly in my skincare ever since I can remember and actually it was from my mum, who also used these products, that I found myself using them. I have talked about them before in previous posts - they are the Oil -free Moisturising Day Cream SPF 8 and the Tinted Moisturising Day Cream in Natural and are both from the NIVEA Visage Daily Essentials range. For under £3.00 each these two products just cannot be faulted!

The oil-free moisturiser is one of the only moisturisers that I can use every other day and it does not affect the balance of my oil-prone skin (because it's oil free and so light) which is great. Also the Tinted Moisturising Day Cream is perfect for me in summer on the days that I do want some coverage but don't want the weight of a foundation.
This leads me on to NIVEA’s own thoughts on their Daily Essentials line which basically just mirrors what I have been going on about. They get that we all have different lifestyle and don't stick to or need the whole cleanse, tone and moisturise routine any more. It's just about what works for you and selecting those products and using them! So the NIVEA tagline 'Your skin, Your rules' just makes total sense and also, in a way, takes the pressure off us consumers thinking we ideally need to buy a whole range of products for them to work!

What is your routine like! Do you have time for a routine? Do you cleanse morning and night? Let me know!

Anyway, now on to the NIVEA treat and the lovely offer they are running at the moment! NIVEA also want to know about your skincare rules - whatever they may be. By heading to the NIVEA website and showing the NIVEA Daily Essentials product you use via a web cam or by typing in the barcode. Then all you need to do is write a bit of information on your own skincare to receive your instant free treat! Really quick and easy to do as well!

The NIVEA Treats include...

 Dance Lesson for Two
Dance lesson for two: Ceroc, jazz, latin, fusion... at over 270 venues across the UK.

Makeover and Photoshoot
New ID Studios makeover and photo shoot: A professional hair, make-up
and photo session, plus take home free 5x7 prints.

Online Yoga Course for four weeks
Online Dru Yoga course: Enjoy two free classes over four weeks, which
you can do as many times as you like in the comfort of your own home.

All the treats must be redeemed by 31st May 2012 but are all totally free - which I think is just great!

I especially love the sound of the free makeover which you can actually do as a group booking of three, providing each person has a valid voucher, which would make a lovely day out! Also the Yoga course sounds great especially after Christmas to tone up and de-stress.

Either way I highly recommend having a look at the site (here) and at the free treats from NIVEA!

I bought a voucher for a New ID Studios makeover and went with a friend to the studio in London. The makeover itself was lovely, it included makeup and a hairstyling, and the staff were very courteous. However, after the photo shoot, they attempted to pressure us into paying £50 per shot, and insisting that we choose 8 shots, which would have cost us £400, something we were not made aware of when buying the voucher. In the end the lady doing the photo editing got quite angry with us and we ended up forfeiting our deposit of £25 each to take one photo home with us on a CD. This was an unfortunate end to the day, and ruined what would've otherwise been a lovely time. I suggest you check the conditions of the voucher carefully, or call up New ID to confirm their policy on photos and pricing. I would hate for anyone else to go through the same bother.

great post! i always find hearing about different peoples' skin routines interesting.
here's mine:
morning - facial scrub, moisturiser, eye cream, lip scrub, lip balm (currently soap & glory's 'scrub your nose in it' & 'for daily youth' moisture serum, badger 'body evolving balm', lush 'mint julips' lipscrub and 'honey trap' lipbalm, but is always changing!)
evening (altho admittedly as i work late nights this doesn't always happen!) - once-over with a face wipe to remove most surface dirt (currently botanics 'quick fix' wipes), followed by a deep cleanse with lush 'buche de noel' solid cleanser and soap & glory's 'peaches and clean' cleansing milk, then at the moment i'm using lush 'skin drink' moisturiser as a night cream as it's a great moisturiser but too heavy for daytime use.
recently spotted 'passion fruit cleansing gel' in the body shop retro range so looking forward to incoorporating that into my skincare routine once my 'peaces and clean' runs out!

ooh the yoga looks good..help in my planned detox after christmas!

Really interesting to see other peoples skin care regime as whatever i do never really seems to help my skin (oily t zone but has dry patches on my nose and forehead due to my psoriasis)..looking at others allows me to try out techniques that might help me!

Oh my goodness, so hard to keep up a decent skincare routine!! I try to cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day but always have Simple face wipes next to my bed in case I just can't be bothered!

I'll have a new skincare regime up soon; for now please see what you think of my new Daytime Chic tutorial at www.freshlookbeautyblog.com/2012/01/daytime-chic-...

I technically could save a lot of time if I didn't have a routine but I try and have one. I want to make time to take care of myself. :) I usually cleanse, tone, serum, moisturize, sunscreen in the day and then cleanse, tone, moisturize at night but I keep makeup wipes on hand for nights I cannot be bothered, and a whole stash of masks for weekly treats.

This looks interesting. I'd love to do the makeover and photoshoot option, but after a bad experience with DoubleTake Studios, I'm a little nervous. I know it's Nivea sponsoring it, so it should be fine, but I'd be worried that after the makeover and photos, when they show you your pics and let you choose which one you want, they'll still be pushing you to spend a fortune buying more :/
I wonder if anyone who takes it up would mind letting me know how it goes? Sorry if that's a bit f a cheeky ask!

It's interesting how Nivea keeps producing great basic products. And amazing offers to attract customers. I think if you have a great skin product line that nurtures your skin, you will beat the dread of a routine. At least that's what we get from our customers. Thanks for sharing this great campaign with us. Will check.
