Pastel shades are my bag this Spring and so far this month pastels haven't left my nails for very long.
High street nail polish brands offer so many budget options that I thought I would share with you one of my favourites with NYC Expert Last Nail Polish in Mint Macaroon (£2.49 - Superdrug).
NYC is without a doubt my favourite budget brand for nail polishes, their speed drying In A New York Color Minute range is just incredible for only £1.79 per nail polish and the clear top coatfrom the same range is something I have been using for years and love.
NYC Mint Macaroon is only the second nail colour I have tried in the Expert Last range but I'm actually thinking I may love the formula, finish and lasting power even more!
When it comes to pastel shades they can be temperamental especially on application for looking streaky or requiring too many coats however with Mint Macaroon I was suitably impressed. This glided on the nails with such ease as it's just the perfect formula - not too thick or runny and perfectly opaque needing only 2 thin coats.
As for the shade itself Mint Macaroon really is the shade of a beautiful pistachio macaroon and doesn't have such a bright tone to it which I really like. Just ideal for Spring! I also decided to add the smallest amount of sparkle to my nails with Nailene Glitter Fx (£3.50 - eBay here) which is the most amazing gold holographic glitter for dusting onto any manicure. This just finishes off the nails for me as I love fine glitter catching the light, just so pretty.
A simple but chic spring nail look!
