In recent years beauty advent calendar had become a pretty big deal and not surprisingly as who wouldn't want a daily beauty surprise to add a little extra sparkle to December.
But sadly I have an issue with beauty advent calendars.... the price of them! Each year sees more brands jumping on the bandwagon with even hefty price tags, most averaging £50+ but going up to a jaw dropping £250?!
It is certainly is a treat to open an extra special advent calendar but I'm sure most of us can't validate such indulgent spending at Christmas time. So here I've rounded up 5 wonderful advent calendars that won't break the bank but still bring a smile to your face in the lead up to Christmas.
No7 25 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar
£35.00
Available from 29th October Boots in-store and online
In my top spot the most affordable beauty calendar this Christmas and one that will certainly be swept off the shelves come the end of October. This years Boots Advent Calendar has been dedicated to No7 products with a range of both their skincare and beauty products behind each door. The total worth of all the products is £130 so this is a pretty good deal and one that you won't feel too bad about treating yourself to!
Thorntons Continental Advent Calendar
£10
Thorntons website here
Back to a traditional advent calendar here but one that will be certainly be a treat to open every day in December. Each window contains a different praline, truffle or mousse from the amazing Continental range and an extra special surprise on Christmas day!
Avon Nail Selection Box
£18
Order offer price £18 when you spend £10 or more - Brochure 18
New to Avon this year is the Nail Selection Box which even though isn't entirely an advent calendar I feel could be used as one. The selection box comes unnumbered with 12 doors containing 12 full size polishes behind (quite a saving!) from various Avon nail ranges. In the past I've had nail polish advent calendars and just cannot keep up with using each new nail polish so this would be an ideal advent calendar to open every other day through out December.
Yankee Candle Advent Calendar House 2014

Possibly the most festive looking advent calender I've ever seen! Yankee Candle have gone and gone it again this year by creating the ultimate treat with a festive house filled with Yankee Candle tea lights new and old in lots of wonderful holiday scents. This isn't only a great sampler to try out different scents but ideal for burning a candle each day of Christmas. Very tempted with this advent!

Last but not least an advent calendar to bring out the child in anyone. This special Playmobil set consists of 99 pieces which are divided between the 24 windows to open each day and create your own little scene (a cardboard background is even included). Hope you've enjoyed the first of my Christmas posts!
