Today I thought I'd talk about make-up brushes. I definitely have enough of them but with a constant supply of new launches on the high street I cannot resist adding more to my ever growing collection - oops!
Here instead of talking about budget brushes from eBay I thought I'd talk about medium-priced brushes that you can find on the high street. For me personally when you have brands such as Real techniques and B. at Superdrug there is just no need to opt for higher end brands. Below is a fairly new launch from Real Techniques that I highly recommend, plus a few from B. at Superdrug that I've been impressed with.
Real Techniques Sculpting Set
£20.99 - Superdrug here
First up is the Real Techniques Sculpting Set that includes three wonderful brushes: sculpting brush, fan brush and setting brush. This is a set that is perfect if you're looking for more face brushes to add to your collection as it caters for contouring, highlighting and setting your make-up. I will admit the setting brush is a little generic but I do like the small size of it to dust powder over the t-zone and occasionally under the eyes to set concealer with the Gosh Set n' Prime Powder.
The Fan Brush is what stands out the most as a wonderfully fine brush to apply highlighter with, perfect for down the nose, on the brow bones and the cupids bow... my favourite products to use with this is theBalm Mary-Lou Luminizer. I also find myself using it on the cheeks to add subtle daytime highlight. You can also use this to contour the sides of the nose with - ingenious!
As for the Sculpting Brush this is perfect to use with powder or cream bronzer and with the slanted edge it really can define the cheekbones. A super dense but soft brush - really nice! These two brushes really do make the sculpting set actually a sculpting set! On the whole this is the perfect set if you are looking to refine your contouring skills or to update your brushes.
B. Vegan Makeup Brushes at Superdrug
Onto the B. at Superdrug brushes now as I have really been impressed with the quality and softness of them. Though the price point per brush is a little more than Real Techniques.
For every day blusher I've been using the Blush/contour brush (£8.99 here) as it's small enough to not over apply and fits perfectly on the cheek, it also feels beyond soft! I could imagine this would also be perfect to use to contour with if you are new to it as the brush isn't too dense and is on the small side.
As for the Powder brush (£9.99 here) this is such a full and dense brush and sooo soft - I love it! I use this to dust my favourites Clarins powder over my entire face, especially on bad skin days as it holds just the right amount powder and diffuses the skin. Totally in love with this brush!
However on less makeup days I use the B. Finishing Brush (£9.99 here) with another favourite, the Gosh Prime n' Set Powder, as I find this to be a superlight brush that delicately swoops over the skin. Love the layered fibres to this brush and how light it acts on the skin.
Overall the brushes I have tried from B. have really impressed me on quality and price. If you are wanting something other than Real Techniques brushes when in Superdrug these are the ones to go for!
I'd love to know what your favourite brushes are at the moment and if you've tried any of the B. make-up brushes from Superdrug!
Fee xo.
