Is it too late to be talking about my favourites of 2015? Hopefully not, as favourites of the year posts are some of my, well favourites to read.
These are of course much loved products but I thought I'd pull them together by what I used the most in 2015 as these products really are true favourites, over products that I love the packaging of but maybe have only used a handful of times. So basically all the products here I totally recommend 1000000%!
Gosh Velvet Touch Primer & Setting Powder
£9.99 - Superdrug here
I mentioned this powder a million times last year because I was simply amazed by it. Compared to mattifying/setting powders I'd tried in the past this really outshone them all and is just perfect for anyone with oily skin as it keeps makeup on the skin and shine-free all day. I also love how there are multiple ways to use the powder, as a primer before applying foundation (for extra oily skin), after applying makeup and even to mattify glossy lipsticks with! If you are looking for a powerful powder then this is the one to pick up!
theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Luminizer
£15.75 - Feel Unique here
2015 was the year that I tried endless highlighters but the one that stood out the most and got used almost daily was the cult Mary-Lou Lumizer from theBalm. This has to be the boldest, pigmented highlighter I own so only a little is needed and it's just stunning on every skintone I've seen it on due to the neutral champagne tone to it. I also love to use this as an eyeshadow as it's such a gorgeous shade and of course to highlight my cupid's bow and brow bones. You really should believe the hype of this product!
L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara
£9.99 - Boots here
Another most used product of 2015 was this stunning L'Oreal mascara, which dare I say I didn't have high hopes for as so many mascaras have such bold claims but then don't deliver. However this mascara was such a hit for my lashes as the curved brush works so well to push up the lashes to the centre and outer corners whilst adding volume to give a lovely feline flick to the eye. I personally love to use this mascara when going for winged eyeliner as this really enhances the eyes and gives them a lifted look. I also found that the mascara didn't clump on application or flake off at all throughout the day. Mascara is a personal choice depending on the type of lashes you have but if you are looking for something that will curl and add volume when this is the one to try out.
Makeup Revolution What You Waiting For? Salvation Palette
£4.00 - Superdrug here
When selecting the products to go in this post I knew I had to include an eyeshadow palette as I used them much more than single eyeshadows in 2015, but which one to pick? It took a while to decide but I finally decided upon this Makeup Revolution palette as I really couldn't be without it now and it's seen me through 3 seasons and catered for them all. Plus the fact that it's an absolute bargain swayed it for me as well. What I love most about this product is the quality of the eyeshadows, they are buttery smooth, highly pigmented and blend a dream. Also as a neutral lover I love all the shades in the palette and the inclusion of 6 matte shades that are again smooth and highly pigmented. If you have yet to try a Makeup Revolution palette and love eyeshadows then put this on your to-buy list right now!
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick - Don't Pink of it!
£8.99 - Boots here
Last year was the year in which I realised that pink toned nudes suited me the most when it came to nude shades. Now if you aren't a lipstick lover then this won't seem a big deal at all, but if you are then you will know how amazing it feels when you figure out what tones suit you the most! So after this revelation I sifted through my lipstick collection pulling out all the pinky nudes I could find and also buying up even more to try, which was when I discovered this beauty. I was already a fan of liquid lipsticks but this velvet finish and comfortable formula was something else for me and the shade suited me to a tee so of course it was one of my most used products of the year, actually I'm sure it will be for many years to come. Total love!
Yves Laurent Touche Eclat Concealer
£22.50 - Feel Unique here
Pssst - Currently on sale for £12.50 - Harrods here!
Lastly I had to included a true makeup staple for me that saw a lot of use last year and remains in my handbag at all times for touch-ups. Touche Eclat is a product that is almost hard to describe as sometimes it's classed as a concealer and sometimes a highlighter so it's not really obvious what it's used for and why it's so good. I personally like to think of it as a concealer highlighter hybrid as it lightly conceals and also lightly highlights making it perfect for under the eyes over normal concealer and also on the high points of the face to add a little light and to simply even out the skin. As the skin under my eyes has darken slightly over the years this really has become a favourite of mine to brighten that area up but without the appearance of another layer of makeup. It can be a hit or miss product but used correctly it's sure to be love!
I'd love to know your most used products of 2015!
