When it comes to reviewing beauty boxes I'm fully aware sample sizes, niche brands and random extras such as compact mirrors and makeup sponge wedges simply don't cut it anymore.
We want to know the contents of the beauty box we are buying and we want it to be worth the money! So with this in mind, I don't feature or talk about many beauty boxes these days!
However, when I was introduced to Cosmetips influencer created beauty boxes I was pretty impressed and as I hadn't heard of them before I wanted to share their latest box and its contents with you today. Side note: This is one of the more higher priced boxes however it does come with a massive saving & if like me you have been wanting to try out something from Tatcha, then now is the perfect time with this amazing beauty box.
Priced at £89.99 (£3.99 p&p) this large Cosmetips x Leyla Rose Beauty Box contains EIGHT full-size products from well-known and loved brands and is worth over £215 (with one product worth £90 alone!). It also comes beautifully presented in a large soft-touch gift box with a brochure of the products included and an artificial red rose. For me, this feels more like a beauty PR parcel than a beauty box!
Included in the box - Lime Crime Venus 2 Palette, Tatcha The Silk Cream, NYX Epic Ink Liner, Benefit 24-Hour Brow Setter, Elemis Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Mask, Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator - Gilded Honey, NYS Soft Matte Lip Cream - London and Lilly Lashes Faux Mink Lashes - Mykonos.
Favourite products from the box
Without being obvious my favourite product of the box and one I was most excited about is the Tatcha Silk Cream 1. Because I've wanted to try something from Tatcha for a very long time, 2. This specific cream is hard to get hold of with only one UK stockist where it's currently a staggering £133. 3. Light ultra-hydrating face creams are my thang! Oh, and the packaging with the little gold spoon/applicator is just perfect! So yes, you could say this is my favourite product from the box and has fast become my new favourite skincare product in general - it's seriously amazing, so light and silky, I think all skin types will love it.
With a much lower price tag but still a great product to receive in a beauty box, the NYX Epic Ink Liner is another favourite. This is a product I've heard a lot of beauty bloggers rave about as it's one pigmented jet black eyeliner that really lasts on the eyes, so no wonder Leyla picked it to be in the box! And I can confirm this is one seriously black eyeliner that has actually replaced my just used up Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, it's that good. A product I now realise I should have picked up years ago, so I'm grateful it came in this beauty box!
Another absolute favourite is the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in shade Gilded Honey. This is again a full-size item and retails for £21! Being a fan of the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Illuminators already I have my fingers crossed I didn't own this shade already and I thankfully don't! As you can see this is one stunning highlighter in a bright gold shade that I will be using on both my cheekbones and lids as it's that pretty. Such a gem of a product to be included in a beauty box.
I also really like the Benefit Brow Gel, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and Elemis Eye Mask - all will be enjoyed!
Least favourite products from the box
As all of my reviews are 100% honest I can't say that all products in this box impressed me or will be used. The main item that I won't be using and will be passed onto a friend will be the false eyelashes. While I'm glad they are faux mink lashes (I'm very much against real mink hair lashes!) they are on the dramatic side in style making them an item not everyone will love. This for me doesn't match up with the well throughout and universally friendly shades and formulas of the other items. I would have much rather seen a pair of eyelashes for everyday use or something less dramatic.
The other item that I'm sadly a bit lacklustre about is the Lime Crime Venus 2 Palette. Maybe I've been a bit spoilt when it comes to eyeshadow palette and there's no denying the formulas are of high standard but I can't help but be underwhelmed by the shades within this palette. Four of the ten shades I would probably use and I love the packaging however it's just not my kind of palette sadly. Although I know many people will love this item!
Overall all the products included in this beauty box are of really high quality and from some amazing brands - I mean if you have been wanting to try out something from Tatcha or specifically The Silk Cream then you would be crazy not to pick up this box.
I also really value how well curated the beauty box is with skincare products suiting all skin types, the liner being black and the brow gel being clear, to suit everyone that decides to pick up the box. This is something often overlooked by even the major beauty box players!
If you like all the products in this box then I'd highly recommend snapping it before the end of the month at it is a limited edition box only available in November. I can't want to see the December/Christmas box - I have a feeling it will be amazing!
Fee xo.
